Eduardo Perez & Jim Duquette On The Bob Shelton Show 2-11-11
ESPN Major League Baseball analyst and former Cardinal Eduardo Perez joins Bob to see where Albert ranks in the Cardinals organization and if Pujols not signing a contract will distract the team. Eduardo thinks that if the Cardinals are going to be competitive then the contract talks won't be as bad, but he still doesn't think that a deal is going to get done before Pujols' set deadline. Perez says that the Cardinals didn't handle the situation as well as they could have because Pujols makes entire teams better and Pujols knows that the game is a business even though he loves St. Louis. Perez thinks a reasonable offere is sever or eight years but defer some of it because Pujols is such a good player, he is worth every penny. Eduardo also believes that Pujols in a Cubs uniform is a reality and that even the Royals are a possibilty.
