Teams behind you in the standings may be closer than they appear. The Reds know that as well as anyone, especially considering that they've used the last few weeks to pull away from the Cardinals. St. Louis has won four straight games against Cincinnati, though, and will go into Saturday's middle act trailing the Reds by a seven-game margin.
