Rich Hill Could Be Lefty Option Out Of Bullpen For Red Sox

Rich Hill continues to show he may be Boston’s top option for a situational lefty next season. He froze Lyle Overbay on a curveball for strike three in the sixth inning last night after Overbay had doubled twice, and then got John McDonald to fly out to end the Jays’ three-run inning. Hill, who will be a free agent, said he’d love to stick around next season. “Out of the bullpen it’s a different animal. I can drop down a bit and throw that curveball and I can throw an over-the-top fastball. It’s different but I’m learning how to pitch out of the pen and I’ve enjoyed it.’
