Outfielder Jim Edmonds (torn right oblique) has responded well to batting practice and could get back sooner than later. He was still not available on Tuesday. "It seemed like he's doing pretty good," manager Dusty Baker said. "I think he's ahead of schedule actually. I want to make sure it's ready like I always do."
