In his last 24 or so hours as a Cardinals player, infielder Felipe Lopez showed up late as the Cardinals prepared to meet Florida in a makeup game Monday in Miami, was sent home by his manager Tuesday and released by his general manager about a half hour later.
Cardinals catcher Jason LaRue, whose season and career are over as the result of a concussion, visited Dr. Michael Collins on Tuesday at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center for Sports Concussion Program, where Collins is the assistant director.
