Wild Third Inning Leads Batavia To Win: Batavia 12, Lowell 2

It was may be one of the weirdest innings in Muckdogs' history, Batavia pushed 6 runs across to take a 6-2 lead over Lowell. The inning featured two things that do not happen everyday. First, Lowell pitcher J. Broughton threw 4 wild pitches in 1/3 of an inning. These wild pitches, combined with some aggressive base running led to Batavia having 6 stolen bases in the 3rd inning. On the inning Melker, Perez, Castillo, and Longmire each stole a base, with Jon Rodriguez adding two more. The base running, was capitalized on by timely hitting, allowing the Muckdogs to take an early 6-2 lead.
