Entering Thursday’s game against the Phillies, the Cardinals are 3 for 23 with RISP this series. You can’t win like that, especially against a team as good as Philadelphia. I wish I could explain it. Tony La Russa and players have had a hard time explaining it. As a team, they enter Thursday’s contest against Roy Halladay batting .230 in that situation. Only Toronto, Baltimore, and the Chicago White Sox are worse. I believe this lineup is to good for this trend to continue, but if it does, I’m anxious to see what manager La Russa will to shake things up.
