The Redbirds on Friday rallied for four runs in the fifth and final inning to a 4-4 draw against Double-A Springfield. Gary Daley started the game, pitching two perfect innings including a strikeout in only 19 pitches. Kevin Thomas followed and struggled significantly in two innings, giving up three runs with five hits and two walks.

A short day at the yard for the 'Birds today. Memphis and Double-A Springfield played to a 1-1 tie in a scheduled five-inning game. Pitchers for both sides dominated the morning game with the four Redbirds hurlers fanning nine batters and allowing just three hits.
