The Indians are expected to work out Wagner Mateo, a 16-year-old free agent outfielder from the Dominican Republic. Mateo and his agents are making the rounds of Arizona camps.
Chris Antonetti would not comment on Mateo other than saying, "We are aware he's in Arizona."
The Cardinals offered Mateo a $3.1 million signing bonus, but withdrew it last summer when concerns arose about the vision in his right eye.
Mateo worked out for the Diamondbacks on Monday.
