It's March 7, and Cardinals manager Tony La Russa makes it a mantra never to make too much of the early part of Spring Training. Even so, one of the biggest decisions facing him and pitching coach Dave Duncan didn't get any easier Sunday. Both of the leading candidates for the lone vacancy in the Cardinals' starting rotation acquitted themselves well in the club's 7-4 win over the Marlins.

So far, the three pitchers vying for the final spot in the rotation are making it tough on the Cardinals.
