Fun Brewing At AutoZone Park

When Global Spectrum took over as the managing firm for AutoZone Park last summer, one of its goals was to find other ways to maximize the use of the home of the Redbirds with non-baseball-related events.

So when Global Spectrum was approached about hosting the inaugural Memphis Brewfest, an international beer festival, it was an easy decision for Redbirds general manager Ben Weiss.

The festival will take place from 4 to 8p.m. April 24 in the AutoZone park plaza and will feature some of the finest and most exotic beers from around the world.

Tickets can be purchased in advance for $32, or $35 after April 15 by visiting memphisbrewfest.com.

All proceeds from the event will benefit Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy and the Redbirds' Returning Baseball to the Inner-City program.

"This is just one example of several others that we're working on to keep the lights on," Weiss said. "We don't like it to be dark around here. We want the lights on. We want the ballpark being used."
