Cardinals Sign Rich Hill To Minor League Deal, Invite 16 Others To MLB Spring Camp

The Cardinals made an intriguing but also telling move on Tuesday when they announced the signing of left-hander Rich Hill to a Minor League contract with a non-roster invitation to Spring Training.

The Cardinals have signed former Chicago Cubs lefthander Rich Hill to headline a group of 17 non-roster invitees to spring training. Hill, who struggled in 14 appearances (13 starts) for the Baltimore Orioles last season, is best remembered locally for his four seasons with the Cubs, which included an 11-8 record and 3.92 in 32 starts during their run to the 2007 NL Central crown.
