Right now, David Freese appears to have a healthy handle on the starting 3B job. There’s a substatial number of free agent third baseman who are better than average players over the course of a season: Beltre (3 WAR), Troy Glaus (3 WAR), Mark DeRosa (2.5 WAR), Joe Crede (2.5 WAR).
