1938 was intended to be a rebuilding year and it turned out to be that. The end of the Gashouse era were now in full swing and the building of the Swifties era, the greatest era in Redbird history would soon be starting.Dizzy went to the Cubs this year, Enos Slaughter arrived, Frisch leaves as manager at year end and Blades comes in as manager are some of the changes.
