The lanky righthander who was a surprise factor in the St. Louis Cardinals run to the World Series title in 2006 just saved the Los Angeles from a disastrous fourth inning. Jeff Weaver, last seen making a difference in a playoff game three years, relieved lefty Randy Wolf with the bases loaded and the Cardinals threatening the Dodgers’ one-run lead.
