Finally, the Cardinals can reduce their magic number to two as they play their final game of the season against the Cubs. Carlos Zambrano takes on Adam Wainwright. After an off year striking out batters in 2008, Zambrano brought his rate back up, but also paid for that with more walks. A win today gives Wainwright 19 on the season, and two chances to reach 20 for the year. He’s 8-3 since the All-Star break with a 1.83 ERA, greatly cutting down his walks and home runs allowed in that time.
