Daric Barton (Athletics):
A longtime Project Prospect favorite, Barton's numbers this season look much more impressive if you look beneath the surface. Barton has an elite walk rate and makes solid contact at the plate....

Brett Tomko (Athletics):
A's pitcher Brett Tomko has seen a neurologist about the nerve damage in his right arm, but the results won't be known for another day or two, A's manager Bob Geren said. The chances of Tomko pitching again this season are slim, but Geren left the door open for his return if he starts to feel better this week.

Dan Haren (Diamondbacks):
D-backs ace Dan Haren had a perfect game through four innings and allowed just two hits over the first six innings as he appeared to be on top of his game.

The right-hander also was a force offensively as he accounted for the game's only run through six innings with an RBI single in the second.

Max Scherzer (Diamondbacks):
Max Scherzer knew something was not right during his start Saturday night, but the right-hander was at a loss to pinpoint just what it was.

Ronnie Belliard (Dodgers):
Considering that Ronnie Belliard knocked a first-inning grand slam Saturday that propelled the Dodgers to a 12-1 win over the Giants, it might seem like a no-brainer to put Belliard back in the lineup Sunday.

Kip Wells (Reds):
Wells (2-4) allowed just one run on five hits in seven-plus innings. He struck out two and did not walk a batter.

Sunday's outing was Wells' longest of the season. He's 2-1 with a 3.52 ERA in his past five starts.

Placido Polanco (Tigers):
Proving manager Jim Leyland's belief that momentum is only as good as the next day's starting pitcher, Robertson was Detroit's momentum. His solid start and Placido Polanco's three RBIs helped restore the Tigers' lead over the second-place Twins in the American League Central to three games, just one less than when they started the three-game series.
