Although he hadn’t seen all the particulars of the decision, St. Louis Cardinals righthander Kyle McClellan, one of the club’s player representatives, was pleased to hear the decision rendered by the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals Wednesday. The court ruled that federal agents had violated the players’ protections against unreasonable searches and seizures when they confiscated a list of players who tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs a half dozen years ago.
