Troy Glaus Scratched With Back Spasms

Third baseman-turned-left fielder Troy Glaus sat out both ends of Wednesday night’s doubleheader due to back spasms. Missing Glaus, the Memphis Redbirds suffered an eight-inning, one-hit, 1-0 loss to the Nashville Sounds in the opener. Redbirds starting pitcher Blake Hawksworth received no decision in return for allowing one hit through seven innings. Hawksworth took a no-hitter into the seventh inning before allowing a leadoff single.
