What's On Deck: Same Game, New Faces

Brevard County Steamrolls Toward the Inevitable
Game: Brevard County Manatees vs. Palm Beach Cardinals
When: June 11-14

It seems a bit absurd to be talking about the postseason in early June, but the Brevard County Manatees are forcing our hand. These fearsome sea cows currently enjoy an 11.5-game lead over Clearwater and Daytona in the Florida State League's North Division, and their magic number to clinch the first-half title sits at a mere eight games. Therefore, it is conceivable that the champagne corks could be popping in Palm Beach this weekend, where the Manatees will be playing a four-game set. Don't bet against them -- the Manatees lead the FSL in both team hitting and pitching (a robust .270 average and an even more robust 2.67 ERA), and have lost just two series all season.
