Mitchell Boggs had admittedly struggled in his first two starts since rejoining the Redbirds after a stint with the St. Louis Cardinals.
Meanwhile, the Redbirds hadn't exactly been lighting up the scoreboard lately on the offensive end. That combination usually doesn't make for a good outcome.
