The Rockies go for a sweep of the Cardinals this afternoon as former Cardinals pitcher Jason Marquis faces Brad Thompson. The three game losing streak put St. Louis two games behind the Brewers in the NL Central and .001 behind the Mets in the Wild Card race. Colorado is now just 1/2 game from climbing out of the NL West cellar. Marquis’s road ERA of 3.16 is over two runs better than at Coors, despite allowing five of his seven home runs on the road. Thompson makes his second start since moving out of the bullpen. He failed to strike out a batter in the five innings of his first start.
