Games Of The Day 6-4-09

The Reds can cut the the Cardinals lead over them to 1/2 game as they send Aaron Harang to the mound. They’ll have to go through Chris Carpenter, however. Chris first five could not have been much better. Two earned runs allowed, a better than 5:1 K:BB, no home runs in 28 innings pitched. He’s allowing an 0.098 BA at home. Harang pitched very well in his start against the Cardinals this year, giving up three runs, two earned in seven innings while striking out seven. In his 19 career starts against St. Louis he’s posted a 4.62 ERA, but he also collected two shutouts and an additional short shutout.
