Cubs Fire Hitting Coach Gerald Perry

The Cubs' offensive woes have cost hitting coach Gerald Perry his job.

Perry, who has held the post the last two seasons under manager Lou Piniella as the Cubs won two National League Central titles, was let go Sunday by general manager Jim Hendry. He will be replaced by Class AAA Iowa hitting coach Von Joshua, who has been with the organization in the minors since 2003. Joshua was the White Sox hitting coach from 1998-2001.
