Ex-Cardinals Watch 5-8-09: Adam Kennedy Shipped To A's, Ben Julianel Released, Jack Wilson Begins Rehab Assignment

Adam Kennedy (Athletics):
The Oakland A's have acquired infielder Adam Kennedy from the Tampa Bay Rays and assigned him to Triple-A Sacramento.

Felipe Lopez (Diamondbacks):
Diamondbacks second baseman Felipe Lopez has been productive with the bat ever since he was released by the Nationals on July 31 2008.

Ben Julianel (Free Agent):
Twins Triple-A Club Rochester Red Wings released him Friday. Julianel made eight relief appearances posting a 1-0 record and 8.18 ERA. He allowed 12 hits, 11 runs (ten earned), three home runs, five walks, and struck out eight over 11 innings.

The left-hander was selected by the Cardinals in the 12th round of the 2001 draft and traded, along with Justin Pope, to the Yankees for Sterling Hitchcock in 2003.

Jack Wilson (Pirates):
In the first game of his Major League rehab stint with the Indians, Pirates' SS Jack Wilson plated two runs, when he doubled to left to bring home CF Andrew McCutchen and LF Larry Broadway to give the Tribe a 2-0 lead.
