John Mozeliak Visits With Bernie Mikalsz On 1380 AM

  • Chris Carpenter was efficient and even felt good after pitching six innings.
  • Showed the arm strength and breaking ball like before the injury.
  • Feeling very comfortable with how he's throwing.
  • Not concerned with the lack of at-bats Yadier Molina had during the World Baseball Classic.
  • Khalil Greene is taking good at-bats, doing what was expected. Also helping Skip Schumaker at second.
  • Going forward with Schumaker experiment and make evaluations later.
  • Getting more comfortable and reacting better to grounders at second.
  • Brendan Ryan, Joe Thurston, Tyler Greene, and Brian Barden are fall backs to Schumaker.
  • Colby Rasmus having a good camp, not great. Will get a heavy consideration for 25-man roster.
  • Not worried about being left handed heavy in outfield.
  • Troy Glaus doing some baseball activities.
  • Dennys Reyes & Trever Miller are proven pitchers that will get left handed batters out.
  • Closer role still up in the air, all candidates throwing well.
  • Jason Motte developing second pitch, slider. Also working on change-up.
  • Chris Duncan appears healthy and is hitting the ball hard.
  • Economy talk, ticket prices, lack of free agent signings, etc...
  • Tyler Greene is building on his reputation, possibility he could make club.
  • No calls on the prospect outfielders, tough decisions ahead after camp
