Cardinals Winter League Notebook Double Dose (1/9 & 1/10)

*Mexican Pacific League*

Thursday's results:
Former MLB pitcher Scott Erickson started for Mexicali and lasted 3.1 innings, giving up two hits, two runs, four wlaks, and striking out two.
Mochis shut out Mexicali 4-0: Boxscore
Mexicali has now been eliminated from the playoffs.

Former Memphis Redbird Nerio Rodriguez started for Hermosillo and gave up seven hits, three runs, two home runs, three walks, and struck out three over six innings for his first playoff win.
Hermosillo beat Guasave 6-4: Boxscore
Even though Guasave lost the series, they still stay in the playoffs as a wild card team. Guasave had the better record than Mexicali during the regular season.

Thursday's results:

Richard Castillo (Quad Cities): Did not pitch for Lara.
Ex-Cardinal Cesar Izturis went 3-for-5 with a double for Lara.
Former Memphis Redbird Vladimir Nunez started for Lara and picked up his second win in the playoffs despite giving up 11 hits and five runs over 6.1 innings.
Lara pounded on La Guaira 14-5: Boxscore

Luke Gregerson (Springfield) was runner-up for the 'Set-Up Man Of The Year' and former Cardinal Prospect Justin Pope came in fifth: Link
Then after double checking records the league came across a blown save by Joel Hernandez, Gregerson wins the award with a 25 to 23 score: Link

*Dominican Republic League*

Thursday's results:
Amaury Marti (Memphis): Started as designated hitter and batted 5th. 1-for-3 with one home run, one RBI, one run, and one strikeout (swinging).
D'Angelo Jimenez (Memphis-free agent): Did not play for Licey.
Ex-Cardinal Timo Perez went 4-for-5, hitting for the cycle and scoring four runs for Licey.
Ex-Cardinal Ronnie Belliard drove in one run for Licey.
Former Memphis Redbird Matt Perisho joined Licey and made his first appearance with the team Thursday. Perisho pitched for Margarita in the Venezuelan League earlier in the season.

Friday's results:

Former GCL Cardinal Gustavo Martinez is being loaned to Cardenales de Lara in the Venezuelan League from Licey.

Thursday's results:
Donovan Solano (Springfield): Committed an error in the eighth.
Monteria held off Barranquilla 5-4.

Friday's results:
Donovan Solano (Springfield): Started at shortstop and batted second. 2-for-5 at the plate.
Barranquilla gave up five runs in the final two frames, losing 6-1 to Cartagena.

*Puerto Rican League*

Friday's results:
