A year ago, Mulder was coming off injury troubles and was heavily courted by the Indians, with the Indians citing their renowed training staff in helping players rehabilitate from injury. Mulder chose to stay loyal and resigned with the Cardinals. A lost season later, the Indians can afford a flyer.
