P.J. Walters returned to form Thursday night to improve to 5-1 on the season, while Jon Jay had a big night at the plate, in what turned out to be a losing cause as Springfield fell out of sole possession of first place. The Quad Cities game against Beloit was rained out and will not be made up. The VSL Cardinals were winners as the 0-7 DSL Redbirds got what they needed, more rain.
