The Cardinals apparently will exercise their own roster bracket-buster today by anointing career minor-leaguer Rico Washington as the replacement for infielder Brendan Ryan, who will be disabled with a strained left side.

jrocke217 says: this is awesome that uncle rico is finally getting a chance. he's had quite a minor league career & does deserve a shot at competing in the majors finally. i covered him while he was in venezuelan winter league play & he did a fantastic job. he can play most the positions on the infield.
