jrocke217 says: no real harm in signing juan gone. but is he really back in shape like oquendo, pujols, molina, & perez have said in the past? that's my only question about him. he's made how many attempts at a comeback....2 or 3(redsox, indians, angels, etc), but never cut it due to either back problems or leg muscle problems. he also may come to camp & take valuable at bats away from various potential cardinal outfielders that do need the work if they plan to be in the big leagues next year. it would be a minor league deal, so if he doesn't cut it, he's (juan)gone. no money wasted. but also if he makes it, this could give say rasmus a chance to get some at bats in at memphis to better prepare him for a september call up this coming fall.
