Gordo Live Feb. 18, 2008

jrocke217: with clement's arm not working out like it was expected for mozeliak. where do you see the cardinals going with options wise now? i don't see the cards making moves to acquire a starter via trade or free agency, even though i wouldn't mind seeing a push for josh fogg now. and the options being thompson, wellemeyer, parisi, boggs, & mcclellan. reyes looks to be a lock in the rotation. i know it's a long shot for garcia, walters, & the various others. how bout tossing kelvin jimenez into the mix, he's got past experience.

Jeff Gordon: As the spring evolves, the picture will clarify. Unless there is reason to believe that Clement will need more than a few rehab start at Memphis, I don't see much urgency right now to make a deal.

jrocke217: with the talk of albert pujols & his elbow. let's just throw out a scenerio here. he opts to take the surgery this season & sit out. are 1b options look like this: duncan, phelps, speizio, mather, jimenez, & washington. do the cardinals take a chance at moving duncan back to first to later next year move him right back to lf? i think it would be a mistake to move duncan around after having him make the transition to left already(and that has been quite a move for him).

Jeff Gordon: It wouldn't kill Chris to split 1B with Phelps if Albert went down. This guy has more mental toughness than, say, Todd Zeile.
