Jeff Gordon: Yes, they could be had in a deal. No, teams aren't making huge offers for those two, for obvious reasons. Once free agency dries up, teams will look harder at possible deals.

Jeff Gordon: He is not a front burner guy. He knows how to pitch, but can he get big leaguers out? Right now, he is just a depth guy. He has to prove otherwise.

Jeff Gordon: I like Johnson, but this team has always had competition in spring training -- to the point where capable veterans failed to make the final cut. It's way the Cards like it.
