Roger Clemens' Team Takes A Loss At The National Baseball Congress World Series

You’ll recall that Rogers Clemens and a team of retired major leaguers came together to compete at the National Baseball Congress World Series in Wichita, Kansas. That’s going on right now and Clemens’ team, the Kansas Stars, got beat for the first time yesterday.

Host Of Former MLB Stars Shine In NBC World Series

Former Major League Baseball stars descended upon Wichita, Kansas on Saturday night for the National Baseball Congress World Series, an annual tournament that invites competition among amateur baseball players, including some former pros and collegiate athletes.

Trevor Megill (former 2014 draft selection) was released by Orleans.


National Baseball Congress (July 27th):

A.J. Kruzel (former 2012 draft selection-Boulder) started and batted leadoff.  1-for-4 at the plate.

Derby beat Boulder 3-1 (Boulder eliminated from playoffs)


International:

Tate Matheny (former 2012 draft selection-USA) started in centerfield and batted seventh.  1-for-4 with one walk.

Cuba beat Team USA in game one of doubleheader (July 26th)

Tate Matheny (former 2012 draft selection-USA) started in centerfield and batted fifth.  2-for-4 with two RBIs, one stolen base, and one strikeout.

Cuba beat Team USA 7-3 in game two of doubleheader (July 26th)

Tate Matheny (former 2012 draft selection-USA) started in centerfield and batted seventh. 1-for-4 with two strikeouts.

Ian Rice (former 2012 draft selection-Cotuit) started at catcher and batted seventh. 1-for-4, one passed ball, and allowed two stolen bases.

Orleans beat Cotuit 1-0 in 11 innings


National Baseball Congress (July 25th):

A.J. Kruzel (former 2012 draft selection-Boulder) started and batted leadoff.  4-for-5 with one double and two runs.

Boulder beat Kansas 7-3
