Shortstop José Iglesias was supposed to be no more than a backup player when he signed with the Reds in February. He was expected to provide solid defense in the late innings. But a groin injury to Scooter Gennett has allowed Iglesias to play every day, and it paid off for the Reds on Wednesday night against Mets closer Edwin Diaz.
