Jim Edmonds gave the St. Louis Cardinals the best seven years of his career. From 2000 through 2006, Edmonds won six Gold Glove Awards for his big-play defense in center field, was selected to four National League All-Star teams, slugged .572, averaged 33 homers and 95 RBIs, and mixed walks and power to amass a .971 OPS. Edmonds’ marvelous talent flowed through six postseasons, and the Cardinals wouldn’t have won two NL pennants and the 2006 World Series without his style and flair.
