Alex Reyes returned to the St. Louis Cardinals clubhouse, Tuesday after having surgery last week and spending some time with his family in New Jersey. He says he expects to "get back to who I actually am" next season for St. Louis.

The tears came streaming down Alex Reyes' face again last week, already too many for a career so short. In the car ride back from another orthopedic office, Reyes sobbed at the harsh reality of what lies ahead: another operation, another six weeks in a sling, another season ripped away.

As one would expect, the news of season-ending surgery was devastating for Alex Reyes. He immediately broke into tears, which continued as he drove from the doctor’s office to the field and the met with the training staff.
