The St. Louis Cardinals have announced that top prospect RHP Alex Reyes is expected to make a Rehab Start for the Springfield Cardinals at Hammons Field this Saturday, May 19.

Alex Reyes was back in St. Louis this week, via Peoria, Ill. earlier this week and was in Palm Beach, Fla. the week before. This weekend he's going to Springfield, Mo. and will likely go to Memphis Tenn. after that. The Cardinals No. 1 overall prospect is likely just 10 days away from his return to the St. Louis Cardinals roster – for the first time in 20 months.

While the last week has been tough for the St. Louis Cardinals and the disabled list, the light is getting brighter for Alex Reyes, who with a start tomorrow afternoon with the Springfield Cardinals (AA) marks what will likely be the second to last stop on his rehab assignment.
