The St. Louis Cardinals entered the offseason prepared to bounce back from a middling 2017 and proceeded to capitalize on that knowledge. They traded a pack of prospects for Marcell Ozuna and shipped Randal Grichuk, Aledmys Diaz, and Stephen Piscotty to clear up roster space. They signed Luke Gregerson to bolster the bullpen.
