There will be hours in the coming months, and definitely during the Cardinals’ organizational meetings in December, when new pitching coach Mike Maddux will do what he does — scour video, compulsively, for tendencies and tips and traits about the staff he’ll soon run. He’ll get to know their pitches and their past performances, but he’ll avoid tossing around conclusions.
