Adam Wainwright To Undergo Elbow Surgery Tuesday

Compromised by a bone bruise in his right elbow for the final two months of the season, Adam Wainwright will undergo an elbow arthroscopy procedure on Tuesday to have a piece of cartilage shaved down. It's the same procedure Wainwright had following the 2014 season.

Cardinals righthander Adam Wainwright pitched only two innings in one game after being sidelined in mid-August with an elbow impingement. Wainwright clearly wasn’t himself that night in Pittsburgh and was shut down for the rest of the season, so on Tuesday he will have the issue addressed with arthroscopic surgery to be performed here.
