Gomber's trying to salvage a middling season with a strong finish. The 6-foot-5 lefty delivered back-to-back starts of seven scoreless innings last week, allowing just two hits in the first outing and three in the second. He has given up one run in his last 21 innings, lowering his ERA from 4.48 to 3.76.
