Mike Shildt Keeping George Kissell's Ideas Alive

The little leather-bound black book that Mike Shildt revisits every day of the baseball season is embossed with George Kissell’s initials and imbued with the seminal Cardinals coach’s spirit. Coiled within the six-ring binder are notes Kissell kept on everything from playing second base to coaching third base to what it takes to be an “FBI Manager,” his phrase for a manager who is always investigating how to be better.
