Big and strong with a well-proportioned frame, Tuivailala is a converted shortstop with a very strong arm. In fact, while his fastball sits between 95-97 miles per hour, he can bring that pitch to 100 miles per hour with relative ease. He throws both four-seam and two-seam fastballs, with both being upper-90s pitches. The sinking two-seam fastball is generally one mile per hour slower than the four-seamer. His fastballs all get excellent movement and have late, crisp life.
