One day after departing a game in severe pain due to a thumb injury, Mets shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera learned that he has avoided the worst. An MRI taken Sunday morning revealed no ligament damage, just a sprained left thumb for Cabrera. The Mets consider their starting shortstop day to day.
