Former Cardinals Draft Selections Playing In College 5-25-17: Matt Vierling Singles Twice, Doubles, & Drives In Two Runs; Parker Kelly Strikes Out One Over One Scoreless Inning; Cade Cabbiness Singles



Cade Cabbiness (former 2016 draft selection-Oklahoma St) started as designated hitter and batted fifth.  1-for-5 with two strikeouts.

Oklahoma St beat West Virginia 8-4

Derek Casey (former 2014 draft selection-Virginia) started and pitched 5.1 innings.  He allowed six hits, four runs (two earned), two walks, and struck four out for the losing decision (4-2).  (g/f:2-9)

Cadyn Grenier (former 2015 draft selection-Oregon St) started at shortstop and batted sixth.  0-for-2 with one run, two walks, and one strikeout.

Parker Kelly (former 2015 draft selection-Oregon) entered in the ninth and pitched one inning.  He allowed no hits or runs, one walk, and struck one out.  (g/f:0-1)

UCLA beat Oregon 6-0

Ryan Merrill (former 2015 draft selection-Texas Christian) started at shortstop and batted seventh.  0-for-3 with one run, one walk, and one stolen base.

Texas Christian beat Oklahoma 9-4

Matt Vierling (former 2015 draft selection-Notre Dame) started in centerfield and moved to pitcher, batting third.  3-for-5 with one double, two RBIs, one run, and one stolen base.  He allowed two hits, three earned runs, two walks, and threw one wild pitch facing five batters.  (p-s:26-12)(g/f:0-1)
