The Texas Rangers don’t have to make a decision on how they’ll navigate this season for another 6 to 8 weeks, but the Houston Astros are making it easier by the day. The Astros already have an 8.5-game lead over the Rangers and show few signs of that dominance ending at any time this season. That leaves the Rangers competing for one of two wild card slots and an eventual one-game play-in to make it into the playoffs.
