Former Cardinals Draft Selections Playing In College 4-22-17: Ryan Merrill Hits a Two-Run Homer; Aaron Bond Doubles, Walks Twice, & Drives In One Run; Matt Vierling Singles Twice & Doubles



Aaron Bond (former 2016 draft selection-San Jacinto) started in centerfield and batted second.  1-for-4 with one double, one RBI, one run, two walks, and one stolen base.

Cade Cabbiness (former 2016 draft selection-Oklahoma St) entered late in the game as a pinch hitter and batted leadoff.  1-for-1 with one double and one run.

Texas Tech beat Oklahoma St 8-2

Joe Gillette (former 2014 draft selection-Menlo) started at third base and batted second.  0-for-5 with two strikeouts.

William Jessup beat Menlo 5-3 in game one of doubleheader

Joe Gillette (former 2014 draft selection-Menlo) started at third base and batted second.  2-for-4 at the plate.

Menlo beat William Jessup 5-4 in game two of doubleheader

Cadyn Grenier (former 2015 draft selection-Oregon St) started at shortstop and batted fifth.  1-for-2 with one walk.

UCLA beat Oregon St 7-1

Tristan Hildebrandt (former 2014 draft selection-Cal St Fullerton) entered late in the game at shortstop and batted third.  0-for-1 with one strikeout.

Cal Poly beat Cal St Fullerton 13-6

Pat Krall (former 2016 draft selection-Clemson) started and pitched 6.1 innings.  He allowed five hits, three runs (one earned), one walk, and struck five out for the losing decision (6-1).

Wake Forest beat Clemson 8-3

Ryan Merrill (former 2015 draft selection-Texas Christian) started at shortstop and batted eighth.  1-for-3 with one home run, two RBIs, and one run.

Kansas St beat West Virginia 8-4

Matt Vierling (former 2015 draft selection-Notre Dame) started in centerfield and batted fourth.  3-for-4 with one double.

Virginia beat Notre Dame 9-0
