Joseph Elliott Girardi graduated in 1986 with an industrial engineering degree from Northwestern, which taught him how to optimize complex systems and eliminate waste. Girardi's entire life seems dedicated to this process. He's very good at it, though from an observer's point of view, it seems to cut down on fun.
