On the Baseball Writers Association of America ballot for the first time in 2017, catcher Ivan Rodriguez deserves to be elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame. Here’s hoping his inevitable election, whenever it occurs, will help bring attention to the cause of another deserving candidate, Ted Simmons.
